Calling all Broncos of the Last Decade (BOLD) — and any Boise State employee in need of a morning boost. Join the Alumni Association for Skip A Sip, one of our favorite back-to-school traditions.
Stop by the B Plaza on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 8:30–10 a.m. for free Push and Pour coffee, courtesy of THG Real Estate, the BOLD title sponsor. This is a great chance to see colleagues, connect with the Alumni Association and discover upcoming events for BOLD alumni.
You’ll also have a chance to connect with the Office of Gift Planning — especially helpful if you’re among the 60% of Americans who don’t have a will. August is National Make-A-Will Month, and staff will be available to help you take the first step. Members of the Student Philanthropy Board will also be there to help raise awareness about CPR certification and AEDs on campus.
More than just a cup of coffee
Started in 2022, Skip A Sip offers a warm welcome to faculty and staff at the start of the new academic year. The idea was sparked by a desire to thank the campus community for their dedication to students and build momentum around meaningful causes.
The event follows a “pay it forward” model: the Alumni Association covers your coffee, and, in return, you’re invited to donate the cost of your usual morning brew to a Boise State initiative you care about. Whether you support scholarships, student programs or another area close to your heart, Skip A Sip turns a small act into a big impact.
“My favorite part of Skip A Sip is watching it spark conversation and connection, whether it’s someone learning about a new cause on campus or simply taking a moment to feel appreciated,” said Sydney Montgomery, senior director of student and recent graduate programs.
“It’s a beautiful reminder that small acts can have ripple effects. A way to say thank you to our staff and faculty serving their alma mater.”
