Karen Viskupic named president of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers

Karen Viskupic, an assistant professor of geosciences, was named president of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers during the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Phoenix.

The organization’s mission is to support a diverse, inclusive and thriving community of educators and education researchers to improve teaching and learning about the earth.

Viskupic has been part of the organization’s executive committee for the past five years. As part of her service, she has co-chaired the Earth Educators’ Rendezvous, served as a workshop leader in the Traveling Workshops Program, and chaired the professional development committee that oversees all professional development activities in the organization.
