Vice provost for equity and inclusion candidate forum

The campus community is invited to attend an open forum for vice provost for equity and inclusion candidate John Miller Jr. at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in Micron Business and Economics Building, Room 4001.

Miller will address the question: “How have your experiences prepared you to advance our institution’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion?” The 20-minute presentation will be followed by a 25-minute question/answer session.

Miller currently serves as the department chair of social work at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Previously, he was an associate professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he served as chair of the university’s diversity council. He led campus-wide initiatives that examined perceptions of diversity and inclusion among faculty, students and staff.

Miller received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina and earned his doctorate in social work from the University of Tennessee.
