Changes to Lucidchart access

Lucidchart recently changed its licensing terms for university students, faculty and staff.

Lucidchart is a visual workspace tool that combines diagramming and data visualization, and has been available to the Boise State community through G Suite (Google Apps) since 2012.

Lucidchart Education accounts now have a limit of 10 free saved documents; users will be asked to pay a subscription fee if they save more than 10 documents.

As a result of this change, Boise State is removing Lucidchart from the G Suite Launcher. Previously saved documents will not be deleted or changed.

To continue using Lucidchart in the future, do the following:

  • Navigate to lucidchart.com
  • Select the Log in button
  • Choose to sign in with your Boise State G Suite account
  • Log in with your Boise State credentials

(If you try signing in with your Boise State account without using Google, your account will not be recognized.)

Users with more than 10 saved files may choose to pay for additional storage on their own or delete old/unused files until 10 or fewer remain.

The Office of Information Technology recommends Microsoft Visio for creating diagrams and flowcharts. Visio is available at no charge on more than 700 public computers at Boise State and is also available for installation on university-owned computers.

If you have questions about or need assistance accessing Lucidchart, contact the Help Desk at (208) 426-4357 or email helpdesk@boisestate.edu.
