In light of the uncertainty and challenges students may be facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boise State University is extending the published March 20 deadline for dropping a class with a grade of “W” to April 17.
Students are encouraged to review their course progress and academic planning with their instructor and advisor prior to making any decisions on whether to drop a course. Students can find their advisor here. It’s important for students to consider potential consequences of withdrawing from a course, as withdrawal may affect students’ ability to meet program requirements and interrupt academic progress.
If a student drops all of their spring classes, their financial aid will be reviewed. Dropping courses may result in future financial aid eligibility issues, which they will be able to appeal.
Boise State is committed to assisting students and cares deeply about their well-being. University administration hopes that this drop deadline extension will help alleviate stress and provide them more time to make the best possible decision for their education and future.
