New works by Valencia showing in Student Union Fine Arts Gallery

A new exhibit, “Lo que ha de Venir / What is about to Come,” on display in the Student Union Fine Arts Gallery through March 30, features new work by Veiko Valencia.

The artist earned an MFA in visual arts from Boise State and is now an adjunct instructor in the Department of Art, Design, and Visual Studies. Originally from Peru, Valencia studied at the traditional art school Carlos Baca Flor before moving to the United States in 2006.

Valencia has exhibited at numerous venues throughout the western United States and in Lima, Peru. He has worked on public art projects for the City of Boise and has been published twice in the New American Paintings magazine.

An opening reception for the exhibition will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on March 1. The event is free and open to the public.
