Start your life as a Bronco. Right here, right now.

At Orientation, you learn all about what it means it to be a Bronco. We connect you to campus resources that will help you along your journey to the classroom and outside of it.

First-Year Students

New students who have recently graduated high school and are beginning college for the first time.

Transfer and Non-Traditional Students

New students who have 14+ transferable credits, or are beginning college at age 21 or older.

Family Orientation

Parents or family members of a student preparing to attend Boise State.

What if I can't attend in person?

While we believe that attending an on-campus orientation provides the best experience, we do offer a long distance orientation for students under certain circumstances. To qualify, you must be unable to attend any on-campus orientation date offerings due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • Live more than 300 miles from Boise, Idaho
  • Active military service which would prevent you from attending all on-campus program dates
  • Distance employment (e.g., forest fire fighting)
  • Travel or service abroad for the full summer
  • Other

The long distance orientation option is designed to connect you with key campus resources, provide basic advising, and prepare you to register for classes. Participation in long distance orientation is by application only. The last day to apply is August 10 at 4pm MST.
