Nursing Students Help at Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic

On Sept. 24 and 25 students and faculty from both Boise State’s School of Nursing and Hangzhou Normal University’s ( HNU) School of Nursing provided assistance during the Veterans’ Administration Medical Center’s (VAMC) Drive-Thru Flu Shot clinic.

The flu clinic is part of VAMC’s disaster planning program begun by several Boise State alumni, including Mary Gillis who is an infection control coordinator at the Boise VA Medical Center.

Boise State nursing students who participated in administering shots include:

  • Kari Tandy
  • Chantelle Herd
  • Amanda Marchese
  • Jonelle Hudson
  • Minela Kostjerevac

HNU faculty member Yafeng Fan and students Xie Jiahui (Linda), Hao Dan (Chris), Xu Luyin (Betty) and Shengjun Zhuo (Laura) assisted with handing out brochures and pamphlets to the public.
