Students and Faculty Participate at Idaho Nurses’ Association Conference

On Friday, Sept. 27, Boise State nursing students and faculty attended the Idaho Nurses’ Association’s (INA) annual conference at the Boise Hotel and Conference Center.

Members of the Boise State University Student Nurses’ Association volunteered with various activities and Marty Downey, professor in the School of Nursing also presented “Self Care and Healing Touch,” a reflection on integrative therapies and how it can be used in practice.

The conference’s theme was “Delivering Quality and Innovation in Patient Care.” Other presentations at the INA conference included:

  • “Accountability and Quality,” by Tracy Hanlon of Creative Healthcare Management
  • “Healthcare Reform and Its Impact in Idaho” by a panel of Idaho Senators
  • “Transition Care” by Kimberly Irby of Colorado Foundation for Medical Care
  • “How to develop your leadership skills” by Diana Meyer, director of the Center for Nursing EBP, Research and Innovation
