RN-BS Online/Distance Completion Track Recognized for Quality

The editors of Degree Scape, an online education guide for accredited programs, has recognized Boise State as a leader in the delivery of online education.

Boise State’s dedication to research, support of students and the convenience of online programs first caught the attention of the online educational review site when the editor’s profiled Boise State’s eCampus as an Editor’s Choice. Most recently, it was the reputation of the online RN to BS degree completion program that landed Boise State back on the site.

In a recent article highlighting trends in nursing education, and out of the more than 600 programs offered nationwide, Degree Scape highlighted six programs as being among the top in terms of accreditation and reputation for online delivery.  Boise State’s program is one of those six, along with several larger schools including Drexel University, Indiana State University, Kent State University, Ohio University, University of Cincinnati and University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

“Being acknowledged on Degree Scape for delivering quality nursing programs validates all the hard work that faculty and staff do every day,” said Vivian Schrader, professor and chair of the RN to BS online/distance track, AGNP and DNP programs. “Student satisfaction and success drive us to do our very best.”

The dedicated staff of the RN to BS program understand the challenges facing this unique group of students, both in terms of the personal and professional commitment required, and have developed several ways to ensure students are connected, supported and successful during their time at Boise State and beyond.

Started in 2008 with 50 students, Boise State’s online RN to BS program now has approximately 400 students at any given point in time and the flexible nature of the program greatly increases the ability to serve students who live in more remote areas of Idaho. In addition, the program attracts faculty and students from across the country.  To learn more about the RN to BS Degree Completion program, visit the Boise State School of Nursing.
