Portrait of Amy Spurlock

Dr. Spurlock earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, her master’s from the University of Virginia, and a post-masters certificate in applied biostatistics and PhD in Nursing from the University of Kentucky. At Kentucky, her dissertation focused on policy predictors of tobacco cessation. For the past ten years, her scholarship has focused on the evaluation and use of blended tube feedings in children, and more recently, chronically ill adults. Her academic concentrations are evaluation methods/research methodology, and biostatistics. She has published numerous manuscripts in refereed journals, two book chapters and has presented her research nationally and internationally. Spurlock is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau, International, the honor society of nursing and serves as a mentor in the Academic Leadership Academy.

Spurlock, a native of Virginia, moved back to Boise with her husband Jeff (who also teaches at Boise State University). She enjoys walking her three dogs, reading and is excited to experience snow again.”
