Dr. Rachel Knight completed her Bachelor of Science of Nursing at Youngstown State University. While there, she also was awarded a certificate in gerontology with a focus and internship in hospice care. She went on to receive her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Arizona with an emphasis of Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her doctoral project was focused on delirium.

Dr. Knight has been teaching as adjunct faculty at Boise State University for the past three years. She has taught both core didactic and clinical courses. She takes pride in providing expertise in acute care content and loves helping mold future NPs.

In addition to her faculty role, Dr. Knight practices as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Pima Heart/US Heart and Vascular. She currently sees patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting and treats all aspects of cardiology care. She regularly moonlights as a Hospitalist/Nocturnist as well to remain well-versed in general acute care skills.
