Boise State University’s online programs recently earned multiple accolades from Abound, an initiative created by the Colleges of Distinction. Boise State Online, which offers fully remote learning opportunities for associate, bachelor and graduate degree-seeking students, was named among the Best Online Colleges in the western United States, as well as the Best Colleges for Adults in Idaho.

Boise State Online provides exceptional education for working adults. Of all Boise State students, those above the age of 25 make up 21% of the undergraduate population, while 41% of our graduate students are 35 years or older.

Degree programs for working adults

Whether you’re looking to take another step in your education or you’re just starting out, Boise State Online offers the flexibility you need to earn your degree. Many of Boise State Online’s degree options offer part-time and full-time options that can perfectly fit your schedule as a working adult.

Boise State students are considered full-time when taking at least 12 credits per semester. A full 12-credit schedule can help you graduate in a shorter amount of time, but it can also bring challenges for working adults. By taking less than 12 credits, your program might last longer, but you will also have time to tend to other responsibilities outside of your education.

Transfer credits are another great way to make sure you’re beginning your education with a head start. Boise State Online’s student success coaches are on call to answer any questions you might have. They can tell you if credits earned through prior learning – whether in high school or at another university – can count toward your chosen degree.

Accelerated online programs

Looking to graduate as fast as possible and kickstart your career? An accelerated degree program might be right for you. Unlike a traditionally paced program, accelerated courses offer the same amount of credits in a fraction of the time. Many Boise State Online courses run in five- or seven-week formats — more than half the time of a traditional 15-week program.

For example, Boise State Online’s Accelerated Master of Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience offers select and qualified undergraduate students the opportunity to begin graduate coursework while still earning their bachelor’s degree.

If the traditional fall and spring semester format isn’t enough, Boise State Online offers classes throughout the summer to ensure you stay on course to graduate. Multiple start dates are offered throughout the summer, and accelerated programs during the summer are also available.
