For new recent high school grads/first-year students starting in the fall, New Student Orientation for First-Year students is a two-day, overnight (students only overnight) program. We also offer a Family Orientation that runs alongside all of our first-year orientation programs at an additional fee.
For new transfer/non-traditional students starting at Boise State, New Student Orientation is a virtual process that allows your student to complete advising and registration via Zoom. Students will be able to sign up for their virtual new student advising appointments in mid-March.
Here are a few things to double-check:
- Confirm that your student’s sign-up for Orientation was completed.
- Verify the Orientation dates before making travel arrangements — especially flights.
Can Orientations be updated or canceled?
If plans have changed and your student is unable to attend their chosen Orientation program, they can reschedule to another open session. Likewise, if guest information needs to be updated, have your student call our office at (208) 426-1156 to discuss transferring your reservation and/or fees to another date, if space is available.
Orientation overnight and guest fees are refundable until the first day of the orientation program.
