Charlie Hewitt

Founder and president of Mirror Studios, Charlie Hewitt, is the second Professor of the Practice in the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing.

Hewitt is a life-long recording and performing musician, audio recording producer and engineer, and sought-after voice talent with national and international exposure. Hewitt first opened Mirror Studios as a music recording studio. Over the years it transitioned into a multi-media production and post-production facility specializing in audio post. From his early love of storytelling through music, it was a natural progression to the art of sound design in radio, television, and film.

Hewitt is also an accomplished private and instrument rated pilot and aircraft owner and has more than a dozen years producing aviation-related content for clients such as the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing Aircraft as well as producing “The Aviator Series,” a pilot safety platform featuring legendary pilot and record-breaking aviator, Dick Rutan. Hewitt’s other projects include “The Frozen Ground,” “Big Miracle,” “Burlesque,” and “Brother Bear.”
