BOISE STATE EVENT PARKING ADVISORY
Attention Boise State students, staff and faculty,
Congratulations to all of our graduates and their families! Boise State University is excited to celebrate the Spring Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 10, with three ceremonies scheduled throughout the day at 9 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. in ExtraMile Arena.
With thousands of guests expected on campus, we want to make the campus community aware of increased traffic and parking impacts throughout the day.
What You Need to Know
Traffic and Parking Impacts
- Heaviest traffic is expected during the hour and a half leading up to each ceremony as graduates check in and guests arrive.
- Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony, and graduate check-in begins two hours prior.
- Each ceremony will last approximately two hours, with vehicle congestion increasing again between ceremonies as attendees exit and new guests arrive.
- Shuttle services will be provided on Saturday beginning at 7:00 a.m. to transport Commencement attendees between the Lincoln Avenue Garage and ExtraMile Arena. Shuttles will run continuously until the conclusion of the ceremonies, with a scheduled pause in service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Parking Impacts and Cross-Parking
Please expect higher-than-usual parking demand in the following areas:
- East Reserve
- East Commuter
- South Reserve
- South Commuter
- Lincoln Avenue Garage
Permit holders in these areas may experience limited availability and are encouraged to plan accordingly.
To help support access during this high-traffic day, cross-parking will be in effect on Saturday, May 10. This means permit holders may park in lots outside of their designated zone without receiving a citation.
