When to Use the UF 200 Course Placement for Transfer Students Form

This UF 200 placement form is for transfer students to place into UF 200. You will be considered for UF 200 placement if you meet all of the following criteria. The following only applies to students who are not currently in a specifically designated student group.

UF 200 Placement Criteria

  • You are not core certified.
  • You have not earned an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science.
  • You are transferring 26 or more earned academic credit hours from another college or university. Note: this review applies only to students who are transferring from other institutions and not to any course work completed at Boise State.
  • You have transferred in at least three courses that were equated as Foundations of the Discipline courses (excluding ENGL 101/102) with a C- or higher. Of the three courses, two can be FNs provided they are from two different fields and at least one has a lab; two can be FSs provided they are from two different fields; and only one course can be used from each of the FA, FH, and FM categories.

UF 200 Prerequisite Note

ENGL 102 is a prerequisite for UF 200. Even if you place into UF 200, you will need to complete ENGL 102 before enrolling in UF 200.

How to Submit the UF 200 Course Placement for Transfer Students Form

  1. Complete the UF 200 Course Placement for Transfer Students form.
  2. Meet with your academic advisor. Your academic advisor will need to sign the form. Your advisor will help determine if you qualify for placement into UF 200.
  3. Email the form to universityfoundations@boisestate.edu. You or your academic advisor may submit the form.
  4. If approved, you will be placed into the UF 200 student group. You will still need to have completed ENGL 102 to enroll in UF 200.
