About The Office of Technology Transfer
OTT supports research and creative activities for the university. The office is responsible for the assessment, protection, development and marketing of new inventions for commercial use and societal benefit. OTT facilitates the internal and external relationships that contribute to this process. The office also supports the advancement of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development programs and initiatives on campus.
Our Goals
In support of its mission, OTT’s goals are to:
- Support faculty, students and staff in research and creative activities;
- Assist with the invention and copyright disclosure processes;
- Assess and protect intellectual property;
- Prepare and market technology for commercial use in our society at large;
- Facilitate relationships with industry for research collaboration and commercialization; and
- Promote economic vitality and social impact in the State of Idaho and beyond.
