Ana earned her Ph.D. and a Graduate Certificate in Public Finance, Procurement, and Contract Management, at Florida International University, Miami. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) from the Romanian-American University, Bucharest, Romania. Ana has extensive practitioner experience on government contracting.

Prior to her graduate studies, she served as a legal advisor for a central government organization in Bucharest, Romania, specializing in public procurement. Ana’s research focuses on public management, government contracting, environmental policy, sustainability, collaborative governance. Her scholarship has been accepted for publication in several journals in the field, such as: Public Administration Review, Local Government Studies, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Public Performance & Management Review, International Journal of Procurement Management, International Journal of Public Administration, Journal of Public Affairs Education. Ana currently serves as District IV representative on American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)’s National Council and as media coordinator for ASPA’s Section on Procurement and Contract Management. She also collaborates with the Sustainable Purchasing Research Initiative at Arizona State University as a Global Research Affiliate.

Her dedication to research and service has been recognized by a number of awards, such as: ASPA Founders’ Fellowship in 2017, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2018 Dr. Ray DeArrigunaga Memorial Scholarship, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2018 Student Member of the Year, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2020 Natacha Seijas “Women in Public Service” Scholarship.
