Blue Thunder is more than talent, energy and school spirit – it’s Boise State legacy. If you want to experience unforgettable moments on Boise State’s iconic blue turf, you’ve come to the right place.

Audition for Blue Thunder

Interested in joining? You don’t need to be a music major to apply, and some scholarships are available.

In-person auditions are April 5 and 6, 2024 for students within 100 miles of campus.

Zoom audition requests can be submitted starting January 1, 2024 for students 100+ miles outside of campus.

Music and Choir Ensembles

Dive into a vibrant world of music at Boise State. All-Campus Band and University Singers are a perfect fit for non-music majors of any level, with no auditions and less of a time commitment. 

Students seeking to challenge and grow their musical skills can audition for Jazz Band, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Meistersingers, Vox Angelis, Jazz Choir and the iconic Blue Thunder Marching Band. All ensembles are offered at the upper division and graduate level.
