Meet The Team:

    Amy Parrish

    Sustainability Director

    Amy works collaboratively with departments across campus to implement sustainability initiatives. Prior to this position, she worked for the city of Boise on a variety of sustainability and climate projects, including greenhouse gas emissions reporting and climate action planning. In her free time, she can be found exploring Idaho’s mountains with her family.

    Jennifer Ellis

    Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Manager

    Jen’s background is in chemical and environmental engineering. She has worked in several roles for Hewlett Packard, the last one being worldwide program manager for print cartridge recycling. Most recently, Jen has been the Principal Consultant in her own consulting firm called Resilience LLC, mainly working on LEED for Homes certification and sustainability projects for businesses. When Jen isn’t working, she enjoys keeping active outdoors with her family. She is excited to join Boise State, where she will be lead the university’s waste reduction initiatives and oversee environmental compliance permitting.

    Colleen Van Note

    Student Assistant Manager

    Colleen Van Note is a senior at Boise State University pursuing a Bachelors in Environmental Studies with a minor in Sustainability. Colleen also works on campus as a student Ambassador for the School of Public Service, helping students connect with their endless resources, primarily under experiential and career learning with the SPS Connect Team. Colleen’s work with the Sustainability office mainly consists of the planning, coordination, and execution of campus sustainability initiatives. Outside of work, Colleen loves to backpack, craft, run with her dog (Entlebucher Mountain Dog), and is also the Vice President of  the Boise State Women’s Rugby! She is thrilled to be serving as a Student Assistant Manager with the Office of Sustainability, and is looking forward to helping manage and grow amazing initiatives both campus wide, and in the larger community!

    Lauren Kumm

    Student Projects Assisant

    Lauren Kumm is the sustainability projects assistant with Boise State University’s Office of Sustainability. Lauren is currently a sophomore getting her Bachelors in geoscience with an emphasis in geophysics. Her background at Pocatello’s outdoor recreation program has helped in leading sustainable projects, such as mapping recycling and waste to figure out how Boise State’s campus can become efficient in proper recycling. When Lauren isn’t studying or working she loves to spend time in the outdoors. During the summer she spends lots of time out on the river whitewater rafting, and in the winter she loves being up in the mountains alpine skiing! During the off-season she enjoys spending her time restoring local trails to prepare for the upcoming season!

    Meghan Calley

    Waste & Recycling Projects Student Intern

    Meghan Calley is a Waste and Recycling Projects Student Intern with Boise State University’s Office of Sustainability. Her academic journey began at North Idaho College, where she earned an A.S. in Psychology and discovered a passion for connecting people with the natural world. That interest led her to Boise State University, where she is now a senior pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Studies. With a background in outdoor education for youth and experience in restoration projects, her current role focuses on mapping and collecting data on campus waste and recycling systems to support more efficient and sustainable campus operations. Outside of her work and studies, she enjoys spending time reading at coffee shops, hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.

    Olivia Bungum

    Student Assistant

    Olivia is a third-year student majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Urban Studies. She is passionate about environmental issues and enjoys spending time outdoors. Her academic journey has included several fieldwork experiences, including surveying for the Desert Research Institute and assessing trails for the Southern Nevada Health District, which have further fueled her commitment to sustainability. Olivia is also a member of the Boise State Club Tennis team and has represented the university at out-of-state tournaments. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, playing tennis, and reading. As a Student Assistant in the Office of Sustainability, Olivia manages content for the office’s website and contributes to various initiatives that promote sustainability across campus.
