Exam Accommodations

For students that have approved exam accommodations by the Boise State Educational Access Center (EAC). The instructor is responsible for applying any accommodations that must be configured in the Canvas course site.

Applying Extended Time Accommodations

Instructors are responsible for applying extended time accommodations in the test settings. Instructions for granting additional time can be found in this knowledge base article: Canvas and EAC Accommodations.

Arrange Alternative Testing for In-class Quizzes and Tests

In situations where a student’s accommodation cannot be applied in-class exams, it’s the instructor’s responsibility to coordinate alternative testing.

Student Responsibilities

Informing Instructors

The student is responsible for making sure that their instructors are informed of their accommodations. Students can request a letter of accommodation to be sent to instructors by contacting the EAC.

Testing Location

It is the students responsibility to schedule their accommodate exam at the right location. Please see the following information. If you have any questions about where to test please contact the Testing Center at testingcenter@boisestate.edu.

Testing Center Accommodated proctoring
  • Instructor has scheduled exams for their course to be administered at the Testing Center
PACS Accommodated proctoring
  • Any in-class paper-pencil or Canvas exams
  • Canvas exams with a voice dictation accommodation
  • Exams that require an interpreter or scribe
