Theatre Performance Accessibility

Boise State Theatre is dedicated to bringing our performances to as many people as possible, including those needing auditory, visual or mobility assistance.

We go beyond mere compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure all our audience members have an exceptional experience. We uphold the belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

Accessible seating is available for those who need it. For general admission shows, when you arrive at the venue, let the ushers know, and they will work to find a seat for you on the accessible seating platform.

Audio Description

We schedule audio description for select events throughout the year. Using a single earpiece connected to an assistive listening device (ALD), patrons who are blind or have low vision can listen to trained audio describers give live, verbal descriptions of actions, costumes, scenery and other visual elements of a performance.

In addition to descriptive audio, these performances also feature a tactile pre-show with select production elements led by a tour guide who is trained to describe visual elements.

  • Saturday, November 18 at 12:00pm
  • Saturday, November 18 at 4:00pm
  • Sunday, November 19 at 2:00pm

WOLF/GIRL 

  • Thursday, February 15 at 7:00pm
  • Friday, February 16 at 7:00pm
  • Saturday, February 17 at 12:00pm
  • Saturday, February 17 at 4:00pm

THE SOUND OF MUSIC 

  • Friday, April 12 at 7:30pm
  • Saturday, April 13 at 7:30pm
  • Sunday, April 14 at 2:00pm
