About Us

The Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing serves the university and the College of Arts and Sciences as a partnership of programs focusing on the learning, practice, and interaction of the dramatic, cinematic and literary arts.

Located within the School of the Arts, the department fosters the rigorous intellectual investigation of form, practice and theory and an active art community through undergraduate research, professional training, experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration between each of its three programs.

Affiliations

The Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing has strong ties to the following performance groups through either faculty affiliation, internship programs or mutual assistance.

The Theatre Program is an Accredited Institutional Member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre and also supports and participates annually in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Region VII.
