A Christmas Carol, Fall 2020

The Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing at Boise State encourages people of all gender identities, races, and abilities to audition for every/any role.

The show must go on! Covid-19 has shut down a theatre as their production of A Christmas Carol was just getting started. One by one, actors from the company sneak into the theatre at night to perform their individual parts and imagine what the production might have been. The ghost light makes eerie shadows on the wall. Or are they just shadows? This video production is an original adaptation by Gordon Reinhart. The staging and filming will adhere to all CDC guidelines. Scrooge knew a thing or two about keeping everyone at a distance.

Because of the unusual nature of this project, a longer time frame is involved. This is the only Fall production for the Department. Dialect coaching sessions will start as soon as casting is complete. Staging rehearsals will take place in September and filming is scheduled for October. Rehearsals are M-F in the evenings. Some limited weekend scheduling may be necessary. While we will make every attempt to work with individual schedules, this project will be a serious time commitment.

Auditions will be via video submissions. For requirements and monologues, please e-mail Deadline will be August 10th.
