For the duration of the TRANSFORM project, a team from Arizona State University’s Global Center for Technology Transfer will be engaged as Boise State’s mentor institution.

GCTT will help Boise State organize an “internal” summit.
GCTT will design and administer a survey to assess key workplace issues that can affect the rate of TRTT (e.g., organizational justice, championing/leadership, work-life balance, DEIA, and role conflict/identity).
GCTT will use a special dataset on university TT to derive accurate benchmarks of Boise State’s TRTT performance and to identify current and aspirational peer institutions.
GCTT will evaluate data on sponsored research, publications, and invention disclosures and review all relevant internal and external forms and documents.
GCTT/ASU will host a site visit by Boise State ART Ambassadors.
Based on the site visit, we will establish a formal mentoring program involving ASU and Boise State faculty and staff

GCTT will organize a TRTT summit at Boise State, to convene all key stakeholders at Boise State and lay the groundwork for activities during the project. At the summit, we will present our survey findings, the results of our Heartland Forward dataset analysis, and identify actionable efforts to accelerate TRTT.
Based on the results of our surveying and the site visit in Year 1, GCTT will deliver selected modules from our customized Exec Ed TRTT training/educational program, titled “Excelling at Tech Transfer, ” to PIs, TR Ambassadors, and key university officials.
GCTT/ASU will host a second site visit at ASU for TRTT Ambassadors.

GCTT will design and implement new tech transfer accounting and reporting systems. We will propose ways to streamline the tech transfer process and incentivize faculty, graduate students, and postdocs to engage with industry.
GCTT will organize a 2nd summit to evaluate how Boise State’s TRTT ecosystem is evolving and to assess progress. As part of the summit, we will conduct interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of our efforts to promote TRTT at Boise State and identify ways to improve outcomes.
GCTT will host a third site visit at ASU by Boise State ART Ambassadors.
