Diversity and Inclusion

Boise State is dedicated to being an inclusive, welcoming community that accepts and celebrates the diversity of its student body.

We have several resources available to traditionally underrepresented students that provide support throughout the admissions process and their college experience.

These programs serve to benefit diverse students, including rural students, underrepresented students, veterans, refugees, students with disabilities, first-generation students, and the LGBTQ+ community. From campus events to student groups, there are numerous opportunities to connect with the diversity found on Boise State’s campus.

Admissions Events

Project Dream for Tomorrow (DFT)

Boise State’s Organizacion de Estudiantes Latino-Americanos (OELA) hosts this annual two-day event that introduces multicultural students to life at Boise State. Eighty high school students from the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley are selected to visit Boise State to learn about campus life, admissions, financial aid, housing and other resources. Students are able to meet and interact with current Boise State students, staff and future classmate.

Student Resources

Student Equity Center

Study or hang out at the Student Equity Center on the second floor of the Student Union Building. This spot is a great place to meet people, and has a kitchen, lounge and computer access for students.

Inclusive Excellence Council

The Inclusive Excellence Council strives to create a campus in which students experience equality and are able to safely express who they are by advocating for populations that have encountered historical and systemic marginalization. By fostering relationships with faculty, administration, community stakeholders and student organizations, the Inclusive Excellence Council creates a place of inclusivity that enhances the educational experience.

Casita Nepantla

Casita Nepantla is a dedicated space in the Student Union Building that showcases Latino art and culture, and encourages scholarly work on Latino and Latin American issues.

MLK Living Legacy Committee

Join with fellow Broncos to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLK Living Legacy Committee consists of Boise State organizations, students, staff, faculty, and community members that come together to create several events in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. This includes the annual “Day of Greatness” march and rally at the Idaho State Capitol in recognition of Idaho Human Rights day.

Boise State Refugee Alliance

The Boise State Refugee Alliance serves to support refugee students and to raise awareness of the issues that refugees face when pursuing an education. The group hosts events with the intent to build communication between refugee students, Boise State faculty, staff and the community. The alliance also provides access to services including mentoring and assistance with financial aid and enrollment.

GREEK LIFE

In 2015, Boise State established the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) to promote and foster the development of the multicultural Greek community through academic excellence, cultural awareness, positive relationships, service, leadership and respect. It is composed of two fraternities and three sorority chapters.
