CAHL Researchers Present at Cascadia Symposium

Dr. Cynthia Curl, Associate Professor in the School of Public and Population Health and Co-Director of the Center for Excellence in Environmental Health & Safety, along with students Meredith Spivak and Jianna Gimenez, recently presented at the 2024 Cascadia Symposium on Environmental, Occupational, and Population Health in Blaine, Washington, just below the Canadian border. This symposium is co-hosted by the UniJianna Gimenez discussing posterversity of Washington, the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Oregon State University, and, for the first time ever, Boise State University. Dr. Curl spoke on “Disparities and Inequities in a Changing World of Work.” Meredith Spivak, a PhD student in the School of Public and Population Health, gave an oral “Ignite” presentation entitled “Sex Differences in Acute Pesticide Poisonings among Farmworkers in Washington” and won an award for best student “Ignite” presentation. Jianna Gimenez, a student in the Master of Public Health program,  presented a poster on “Assessing Chromic Exposure to Glyphosate using Urine Analysis.”
