Community of Practice: Adapting Your Online Course to the New Realities of Artificial Intelligence

January 2 - April 30

Bi-weekly Meeting (Day/Time TBD)

Are you teaching an online course and worried about the increasing prevalence of Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT ? This community of practice (CoP) centers on ways we can adapt our online classes to the new AI realities. We will meet every other week throughout the semester and discuss a variety of strategies for addressing Gen-AI use by students, with students, and for students. We’ll discuss ways you can use GenAI yourself to help with teaching tasks and ways to encourage student critical thinking by purposefully and intentionally using Gen-AI in the assignments we create. We will explore the current research in the field and have roundtable discussions on thematic topics related to Generative AI in the online classroom. Please join us!

This CoP counts as 3-elective units towards Online Course Design and Online Teaching Certificates. Learn more about eCampus Faculty Development Certificates.

Tentative Meeting Dates

Dates and times for meeting will be established at the beginning of the semester. We will do our best to accommodate the schedules of all participants. If you miss a session, you will be asked to review the recording and complete a reflection.
