Alumni Legacy Scholarship and Award

Scholarship Quick Facts

• $5,000 per year, renewable up to four years
• For incoming freshmen who are related to a Boise State alum
• Minimum 3.5 GPA and full-time enrollment required
• Resume, high school transcript and essay required
• Application deadline: Feb. 15

Application Requirements

To apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, you must meet the eligibility requirements and submit all required application materials by Feb. 15.

Eligibility Requirements

• You are the relative of an alum who earned at least 25 credits from Boise State University, Boise State College or Boise Junior College. Preference will be given to applicants whose relatives are their parent, step-parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. Preference will also be given if the relative is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association.
• You are an incoming freshman.
• You have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.5.
• You are enrolled as a full-time, fee-paying student. Full-time is defined as 12+ undergraduate credits.

• Official high school transcript

Renewal Requirements

Recipients may renew their scholarship for up to three additional years by maintaining the following requirements:

• Full-time student enrollment
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
• Active membership in a recognized Boise State club or organization (recognized by the Student Involvement and Leadership Center or an official university department)
• Attendance at key alumni events — such as the Distinguished Alumni Awards and Alumni Association board meetings — when requested by the director of student and recent graduate programs
