The Biology Learning Center (BLC) is a place where all students taking undergraduate biology courses can work collaboratively. Learning does not just happen in the classroom – successful students take advantage of campus resources!
The BLC is a great place to study, get support from undergraduate tutors and instructors, and get to know other students. Working with others will help you succeed in your Biology classes and connect with other students and faculty.
In the center of the first floor of the library you’ll find whiteboard tables with signs that designate the Bronco Learning Commons.
Our peer tutors are here to provide drop-in tutoring and lab instructors provide office hours and additional support at the BLC.
Use this space to get tutoring, meet with your lab professor, or just come to work on homework!
The Biology Learning Center Project History
The Biology Learning Center (BLC) is the outcome of collaboration between the Biology department and many members of the Boise State community committed to the success of our undergraduates. The BLC was funded by the BSU COAS Innovation Hub Grant, which provided generous support to hire our tutors and BLC manager. The BLC works closely with the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) staff to train our tutors in best teaching practices and to create a welcoming campus space for collaborative learning. The BLC is housed within the Bronco Learning Commons within Albertson’s Library. We are greatly appreciative of the commitment of COAS, Albertson’s library, and ASCC in helping us provide Biology students access to drop-in tutoring support.
