Dr. Allan Albig Tackles Molecular Biology by Writing his own Book

Professor Dr. Allan Albig (Faculty) and his daughter Roxy Albig recently self-published their own book on molecular biology titled: “It’s Not Magic: It’s Biology: A guided tour through your molecular world.” The goal of this book was to battle disinformation and public distrust of science by providing a door to accessible molecular biology for a general audience. Dr. Albig did the majority of research and writing, while Roxy provided the illustrations to complement the concepts and ideas. With the help of Elise Overgaard (Ph.D. Student) who edited the book, Dr. Albig and Roxy were able to tackle the comprehensive field of molecular biology and create a book that was robust and creative. They placed a strong importance on how a non-trained scientists processes technical information into accessible pieces and images. Overall, the Albig’s hope that by understanding a little bit more about molecular biology, readers will be better able to make more informed opinions about relevant scientific topics, such as medicines, vaccines, and questionable “internet cures.” The book is now available to pre-order on Amazon.
