Maria Pou and Preston Hazen, both Ph.D. students, received a “Top Honor Award” for their poster presented in the 2023 Graduate Student Showcase in April. Maria’s poster was titled, Association between inflammatory cytokines and breast cancer, which highlighted her research taking place in Dr. Cheryl Jorcyk’s Lab. On the other hand, Preston’s poster was titled, Interactions of Beta-Crystallin with a Model of Animal and Human Eye Lens-Lipid Membranes, which showcased his research in Dr. Laxman Mainali’s Lab.
The Graduate Student Showcase is a one-day graduate conference at Boise State that provides an opportunity for graduate students to showcase their accomplishments with a research poster, connect with other graduate students across campus, and possibly win a cash award.
