Thinking about applying for an NIH R award?
NIH Research grants (R series) are an important funding mechanism for independent investigators as these awards offer the opportunity to head up major research projects.
During this ITHS event, Dr. Ian de Boer will leverage his experience from winning six different R awards to provide R series grant writing strategies.
By attending, you will learn how to:
- Identify the right R award for your circumstance
- Formulate focused research strategies
- Identify how to avoid common mistakes
- Describe NIH expectations and grant requirements
Dr. de Boer is Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, and Adjunct Associate Professor, Epidemiology, at the University of Washington. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine and has been in practice for 16 years. His research interests include prevention and early identification of chronic kidney disease, diabetic kidney disease, and vitamin D deficiency and kidney disease.
