CONNECT FEEDBACK

Video Transcript

[Music] [Derek Bub, West Ada Superintendent]  We have some tremendous kids here at Boise State.  I mean it was just great to be able  to talk to them on a more casual level.  Really so many of them are are going through that phase of – what does tomorrow look like for me?  And being able to offer a little bit of guidance with that, it’s been great.

[Speaker: Terrance Green, US Bancorp]  Boise state is doing a great job to make it easier for their student athletes to have a life after Athletics.

[Speaker: Billy Bowens, Football]  Being a six year guy and just graduated, you love sports but you always got to be prepared to – you know – for what’s next and, um I, I met a lot of good people here, made a lot of connections and there’s people here that want to help, you know – student athletes and help, you know – people who are transitioning from that that athlete life into the, you know – real life and, you know – if you just make connections meet new people and you never know who knows who and who you can meet and how that can help you in the future.

[Speaker: Lily, Beach Volleyball]  It means a lot. I know college sports oftentimes is a business. And it’s great to know that Boise State cares about their athletes and they care about what happens and how we succeed after our sport as well, not just on the court.

[Speaker: Bella Brickner, Cross Country]  As a student athlete, it we devote our lives and a lot of our time to our Sport and it’s hard to get out there into the real world. [Speaker:

Riley Smith, Football] Those relationships that you build will carry on with you for a long time and a big thing for me right now and I know a lot of the people that are becoming Juniors and seniors is kind of finding a mentor that will be able to teach you what you need to know because they’ve already been through it and connecting with them gives you a great advantage to go into the work force.

[Speaker: Susan Olsen, Hawley Troxel]. I think it’s really great to see the athletics department push this students athletes into the business community. I think the more individuals they meet the more they can understand the opportunities that will be here for them when they do graduate.

[Speaker: Jeramiah Dickey, AD] There is a life after Sport and as we continue to pour into our student athletes providing them opportunities like this really allows them to prepare and plan for that future.
