Boise State University’s Responsible Business Initiative Announces its Stakeholder Advisors

The Responsible Business Initiative (RBI) at Boise State University is pleased to announce that 21 business and community leaders are serving as Stakeholder Advisors. Representing key stakeholder groups for the College of Business and Economics (COBE), each leader embraces and role models the principles that the Responsible Business Initiative is built upon. The Responsible Business Initiative was launched by the College in May 2014, with support from its lead partner, Wells Fargo.

Stakeholder Advisors support the Responsible Business Initiative in delivering on its mission to catalyze leaders to create sustainable value for business and society. They accomplish this mandate through the provision of: 1) strategic guidance, including input on the implementation of its strategic plan and goals, with particular emphasis on community engagement; 2) resource cultivation, with a particular emphasis on identifying business and community experts to collaborate in teaching, research, student projects, community events, and other RBI initiatives and deliverables; and 3) external accountability to ensure progress against strategic plan and goals, and to reflect on RBI performance against the principles and values that define it.

RBI’s Director and Faculty Council leverage Advisor guidance and feedback to build a credible platform for long term responsible business leadership by the College of Business and Economics (COBE). This year, the Advisors have been central to defining RBI’s mission and strategy and the decision to support social innovation and the growing B Corporation community in Boise. The Stakeholder Advisors are also playing a central role in ensuring transparent reporting on impact through the publication of the College’s first sustainability report and shaping its first Impact Summit, both planned for this spring.
