Work U Application

Work U applications involve the following:

• Written responses to application questions
• Resume

You can apply to up to three opportunities in an application cycle.

All upper-division undergraduate students are eligible to apply, regardless of major or previous experience! The goal is to help get students experience before they graduate.

Only students who have not participated in Work U previously are eligible.

Every semester, the Work U team matches dozens of students with organizations across the Treasure Valley. Over the years, the most successful applications have involved students doing the following.

• Prepare your responses in advance: The Work U application is completed on Qualtrics, and we highly encourage applicants to prepare their written responses in advance and copy/paste them into the form. To help with this, we have prepared a downloadable Google Doc that includes the written response questions on the application.
• Share why you are selecting each opportunity: Help the committee understand why you are drawn to each opportunity.
• Connect your interests with the organization: Work U organizations are doing mission-driven work across the Treasure Valley. Help us understand your connection with each Work U site.
• Submit a completed, spell-checked application: Work U is a professional development opportunity and your application needs to be well-written, lack spelling and grammatical errors, and provide evidence of intention and effort put. Your application does not need to be perfect, but needs to help us understand your personal connection to each opportunity!

Work U provides a limited number of scholarships each semester.

These scholarships are intended to provide support to students who may not have the opportunity to engage in unpaid experiential learning opportunities due to financial barriers.

After you are matched with an opportunity, you will be asked to fill out a scholarship application if your opportunity is unpaid.
