Luke Montrose, Assistant Professor of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University and collaborator with the Center for Excellence in Environmental Health and Safety, continues to research wildfire smoke exposure and related health effects, particularly among vulnerable populations. In April 2023, Dr. Montrose participated in a wildfire smoke webinar hosted by the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology and the International Society of Exposure Science. Other speakers on the wildfire smoke panel for this webinar included Dr. Ana Rappold, biostatistician with the Environmental Protection Agency, and Matt Strickland, Professor & Department Chair of Health Analytics and Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University of Nevada-Reno. Dr. Montrose’s current research focuses on building wildfire smoke resilience for long-term care residents in the Mountain West. Learn more about this research here.
