Join us in EDUC 112 as Dr. Liane Moreau of Washington State University presents “Nanoscale nuclear materials: synthesis and advanced x-ray characterization of uranium oxide nanoparticles.” Uranium oxides are typically used as fuel pellets in light water moderated nuclear reactors. Exploration of crystalline forms of uranium oxides are conducted to develop accident tolerant fuels and to capture fission products for disposal.
