How to Start Undergraduate Research
Are you interested in getting started in undergraduate research?
You’ve come to the right place! Please follow the steps below to start the process of becoming involved in undergraduate research in one of our diverse chemistry and biochemistry laboratories:
1. Read about faculty research interests and emphases by visiting their page. Click here to view the faculty roster, and then click on “view full profile” to read about their specific interest. Here, they will also discuss what they are looking for in undergraduate research assistants and their recent publications.
2. Visit the third floor of the Science Building and view the various posters around the labs. Research posters are a great way to become familiar with what is being conducted throughout the department.
3. Complete and submit the department’s Undergraduate Research Interest Form.
4. You should receive an email from a department representative within one week about your research interest and to discuss the next steps in getting you into a research laboratory.
