Scott Lowe, a professor at Boise State, has completed a (funded) short research project for Jamie Jo Scott and the Albertson Foundation on hops use and the craft brewing market in Idaho.
The purpose of this project was to produce a report for Dave Krick and Jamie McMillan on the economic climate for hop growing and microbrewing in Idaho.
We were asked us to address the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for hop growing in Idaho, focusing specifically on the Idaho microbrewery market and the potential for growth.
The name of Lowe’s report is “An Economic Analysis of the Hop Farming and Craft Brewing Industries in Idaho.”
