
The Dykman Financial Trading Room gives finance students access to a wealth of technological tools. Available databases provide hands-on experience in a variety of financial management applications.
The Dykman Financial Trading Room (MBEB 2012) we have nine individually licensed Bloomberg terminals, allowing you to use the same data, research, analytics and news that industry professionals employ. Students can demonstrate proficiency with the tools by completing the Bloomberg certifications while earning their degree.
Dykman Financial Trading Room Assistance
The department provides graduate students to assist you in the Dykman Financial Trading Room (MBEB 2012) during the fall/spring semesters. You can receive one-on-one assistance logging in for the first time as well as receive online training to navigate the Bloomberg resources.
Bloomberg Certifications
The Department of Finance partners with Bloomberg to offer various Bloomberg certification programs. Students can access the certification offerings through the Bloomberg terminals. The programs include:
- Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals
- Bloomberg Market Concepts
- Bloomberg Spreadsheet Analysis
Completing the Bloomberg certifications lets you demonstrate proficiency with the tools employers are seeking.
Additionally, each year a select number of students are selected to participate in Finance 460, the Student Managed Investment Fund course. In the course, students manage a million-dollar-plus portfolio of stocks, bonds, and mutual and ETF funds used to generate financial support for Boise State students. Historically, proceeds from the fund have been used to fund scholarships for future classes of finance students as well as to provide support to the campus food pantry.
