Katia Guerra is an assistant professor of information technology management at Boise State University. She received her Ph.D. in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas, G. Brint Ryan College of Business.

Her research interests include information security, privacy, smart contracts, IoT devices, and IT management. Her research has been published in MIS Quarterly Executive, Journal of Computer Information Systems, and Journal of Information Systems. Her research has also appeared in numerous conference proceedings, including the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). Katia has contributed to the SIM IT Trends Study supported by the Society for Information Management. Her teaching interests include information security, IT management, and business intelligence. Before joining academia, Katia worked for ten years as a qualified lawyer in Milan, where she assisted the management of Italian and international companies on privacy and security law and the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts. Katia earned a Master of Law from the University of Oxford (UK) and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Pisa (Italy).
