CS Colloquium Orchestrate: databases, as a service

CS Colloquium Orchestrate: databases, as a service
Brady Catherman, Operations Engineer, Orchestrate
MEC 106
15th April, 4:30pm – 5:45pm

Abstract: Orchestrate: The best of NoSQL, as a service. Orchestrate unifies multiple databases through one simple REST API. Orchestrate runs as a service and supports queries like full-text search, events, graph, and key/value. This will be an in-depth talk not into the core of the distributed database product (which is wrapped around Hadoop HBase) but more about the details about operating and getting around real world failure modes.

Bio:  Brady got his start hacking in Computer Science labs at Boise State. Since then, Brady has accumulated an impressive track record in ops and engineering from Twitter, Google, and Apcera among others.
