Welcome Back!

In-person or virtually, we’re glad to finally be able to welcome you back. Whether this is your first semester in the CS program, your last semester before graduation, or somewhere in between you’ll want to read on for some updates/reminders. Times may be different, but we’ve got this covered!

Our Home (CCP)

Did you know the CCP building has its own CCP Building webpage? It does! This page includes standard building hours, floor maps, emergency routes, etc. You’ll want to check it out because building hours and access have been changed. Notably, you will need to use your BroncoCard/CampusID to access the building at all times and a one way loop along with enter and exit only doors have been instituted on the second floor. Here’s the direct link to the current CCP floor layout.

Experience an an access issue? Complete our Building Access Request form and we’ll get it fixed for you!

Admin Office Staffing:

For the Fall 2020 semester, in-person staffing of the CS Admin Office located in CCP 364 has been adjusted as noted below. However, staff will be accessible remotely during normal business hours (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday) via email (computerscience@boisestate.edu) or you may leave a voicemail at (208) 426-5766. It’s highly encouraged to contact staff remotely however if an in-person meeting is much more helpful, we ask that you schedule an appointment.

CS Admin Office Hours
Monday: 11:30am-5pm
Tuesday: 8am-5pm
Wednesday: 11:30am-5pm
Thursday: 8am-5pm

Computer Labs:

Like classrooms across campus and in our building, you’re going to notice some changes to the computer labs in CCP this semester. CCP 240 (The Metageek Lab) and CCP 241 (The Kount Tutoring Center) will be open to all CS students 24/7 as they have in the past. CCP 242 will be closed to general CS student access. Tables in CCP 240 and CCP 241 have been adjusted and some machines removed to reduce capacity and allow for 6′ of distancing. A tub of disinfecting wipes is located at the entrance of each lab which can be used to wipe down desks and the keyboard/mouse by users prior to use. Other small changes to note: You will notice that labs will no longer be stocked with markers and each lab now has a marked enter only door and exit only door.

Food/Drink Policy:

Please note that campus-wide, no food or drink (including water) is allowed in classrooms or labs.

Custodial Services:

For those visiting the building, you can rest assured that our custodial services crew is treating our space each night in the exact same way they do all of the medical facilities they service. In addition, you will have access to disinfectants that can be used on spaces prior to use in our classrooms and throughout the building.
