Whether this is your first semester in the CS program, your last semester before graduation or somewhere in between, you’ll want to read on for some updates/reminders.
City Center Plaza
We hope you’ll get plenty of time this semester in the City Center Plaza (CCP) building to focus on your work and studies. Students in CS programs have 24/7 access via their campus ID to the building and labs which feature a lot of comfortable study and meeting space.
New this semester, interior stairwell doors will no longer be unlocked during business hours however you will be able to swipe your campus ID for 24/7 access. These card readers are managed by a private vendor and it may take a few days into the semester for all users to be uploaded.
Our CCP building has its own webpage under the Current Students section. This page includes floor maps, emergency routes, etc. Please email computerscience@boisestate.edu or call 208-426-5766 if you have access issues or questions about the space.
All Aboard the Boise State Shuttles!
You can learn more about the different options for getting to/from CCP and main campus on our Transportation webpage.
Also, don’t forget that Valley Regional Transit buses are free to Boise State students with a bus sticker which you can get at the Student Union Building info desk. With the VRT hub in the basement of the CCP building, this is another great option and Boise State’s shuttle tracker has merged with VRT’s bus tracking software so you’ll be able to see all routes/busses on the same app, ETA Spot (Apple Store, Google Play)
Secure Bike/Electric Scooter Storage
All students in the CS program have free access to a secure bike/scooter storage facility on the 1st floor of the Boise Center East Building garage and accessed via the east spoke of the grove plaza (the alley with the large mural). Look for the large book in the middle of the mural and you’ll find the entrance below the book’s spine. After badging in, you’ll badge into another door on the left. The outside card reader is managed by a private vendor and it may take a few days into the semester for all users to be uploaded. If you do have trouble accessing, pull your campus ID out of wallet or card holder and swipe in various different ways. If it doesn’t work after that, lease contact Jordan Morales (jordanmorales@boisestate.edu) for troubleshooting.
