Communications Intern

Northwest Youth Corps | Eugene, OR

Northwest Youth Corps (NYC) is recruiting a Communications Intern to assist in the development and management of social media, website, and recruitment campaigns for Northwest Youth Corps and their suite of programs. The Communications Intern will develop more public awareness about Northwest Youth Corps’ ongoing programs and recruitment efforts to support those programs. The Intern will be exposed to a wide array of communications department activities, will develop a professional portfolio of work, and have opportunities for professional training and leadership growth over the course of the Internship.


Workforce Management Internship

National Park Service | Seattle, WA (Temporarily telework-based until approximately February 2022)

The goal of this internship is to provide youth with training and professional development opportunities related to Workforce Management. Workforce Management encompasses the following offices: Servicing Human Resource Offices (SHROs), Employee and Labor Relations Office, Office of Workers’ Compensation, Office of Personnel Security, Employee Development, and Administration/Project Management. Successful applicants will assist with populating online tools that support the human resources staff and customers of the Pacific West Region, visit National Parks within the Northwest to shadow staff to garner best practices and success stories from the field, and assist various Workforce Management offices with special projects, implementation of new/revised policies, and formulation of new guidance based on current flows of information.


Trade Skills Intern

Nez Perce National Historical Park | Spalding, ID

Nez Perce National Historical Park is recruiting one Trade Skills Intern beginning October 4th, 2021, through January 14th, 2021, work 40-hour work weeks Monday through Friday. This internship will be learning based, and will provide opportunities for the intern to grow, develop, and apply general facility management skills through a mix of training and participation in park projects and operations. Trade skills learned will include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry skills. Interns will also focus on career building and professional development skills. This will include resume writing, overview of park operations such as interpretation, natural and cultural resource management, and public engagement/community involvement.


Outdoor Educator/Youth Development Specialist

The Outdoor Educator/Youth Development Specialist AmeriCorps Individual Placement is both highly demanding and highly rewarding, serving high school students identified as at risk of academic failure and/or presenting behavioral challenges. Outdoor Educator/Youth Development Specialists spend most of their time in direct contact with students, either providing direct student instruction in small groups in a classroom setting, providing environmental education in the field, or facilitating conservation-based, service-learning projects.


Architectural Historian Resource Assistant

Okanogon-Wenatche National Forest | Naches, WA

The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest seeks an Architectural Historian Resource Assistant to work in the Public Services Staff Area in Naches, Washington. Through a partnership with Northwest Youth Corps, the selected applicant will play a key role in supporting and growing the heritage program on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This position will focus on field surveys within developed recreation sites and along trails, as well as within future forest vegetation management areas.
