Undergraduate research position on Machine Learning and Cell Structure

The Mechanical Adaptations Laboratory is seeking a motivated individual to work on developing machine learning algorithms to detect changes in cellular structures.

Job Requirements

(Training will be provided for all technical aspects)

    • Ability to commit 10- 15h
    • Organize large amount of imaging data
    • Coding in Python Keras | TensorFlow to implement/utilize a convolutional neural network (CNN) for detecting changes in cellular structure
    • Perform antibody labeling of cellular structures
    • Use confocal microscopy to collect cell images
    • Aseptic cell culture

We are looking for motivated and flexible individuals who are competent in learning new methods and interested in interfacing programming skills with microscale cellular structures. An ideal candidate would be a sophomore or a junior in a biomedical-related field (Science or Engineering both acceptable) who is hardworking, self-reliant, well-organized, and interested in imaging, programming, and biomedical sciences. Seniors will be considered based on interviews. This job would be an excellent opportunity to gain research experience in a growing and exciting field of biomedical engineering. Hours

Full-time as allowable during summer and spring
