Plan ahead for registration advising

Dear Students of the Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering Department:

As we head into the final third of the semester, and as Spring semester registration begins, I thought it would be a good time to reach out and give you an update.

As you approach spring semester registration, please keep in mind that your advisor is probably experiencing a similar level of stress as you are under these unusual circumstances. So please be patient if we can’t respond immediately to a request for an appointment, and do your part by being prepared for an advising appointment. Make sure you’ve done everything you can to understand the requirements and use your advising appointment to solve really difficult or concerning issues.

CERTIFICATES

Many students have been asking about the certificates and how to sign up for them. Last year the ME faculty approved several new academic credentials known as certificates. The signup process is a little different than minors. Here’s what we know:

  • If you’ve moved to the new curriculum and are on the 20/21 catalog, then you can find the certificates by following the steps for ‘change-my-major’ found below. You should see the certificate option there.

Sorry for the confusion.

Have a great weekend folk! Stay safe, take care of yourselves, and do good work!
