Amrina Ferdous received a travel scholarship from the American Statistical Association which allowed her to attend the 2019 Symposium on Data Science and Statistics in Bellvue, Washington, in May.  Amrina presented her poster “On Combining Data with Prior Parameter Information” and served as session chair for a session called  “Software Packages for Data Science“.
The Symposium on Data Science and Statistics is a conference for data scientists, computer scientists, and statisticians organized by the American Statistical Association and Interface Foundation of North America.
Amrina is a third-year PhD student in the Data Science Emphasis working with Dr. Jodi Mead in Mathematics.
